As aPlatform Systems Engineer IV,you will:

• Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to enterprise platforms
• Provide Tier 3 IT systems support on a wide range of technologies across classified enterprise systems

A week in the life of aPlatform Systems Engineer IV:

• Design and implement scalable platform architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead the development and deployment of platform components, services, and applications.
• Drive security best practices and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime.
• Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms
• Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel
• Workon project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer's production IT environment
• Providing direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers

• Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
• DoD 8570IAT Level II Certificationrequired (e.g.,Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+years of related experienceas a Platform Engineer or similar role OR 12+ years of experience in lieu of degree
• Experience designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure architectures in cloud and on-premises environments across IL5 to IL6+ domains.
• At least 2 years of experienceadministering Linux (RHEL) systems
  
  
  
  • proficient in Linux administration, including managing users, permissions, networking, and storage.
  • comfortable with commands for system monitoring, package management, and shell scripting
  
  
  
  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, EMC SANs, and VMware products
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues

NOTE: This position is 100% on-site.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is$160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
