Almac Group is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for our Souderton, PA location. The Senior Systems Engineer has primary responsibility for all servers and networking equipment supporting mission critical 24X7 networking services for all Almac sites and is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all computerized equipment including but not limited to physical and virtual Windows and Linux Servers, SAN (storage area network), switches, routers, firewalls and any related software. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all computerized systems Provide ongoing support of existing infrastructure to maintain uptimes within the agreed service level agreement. Provide documentation in line with company standard operating procedures Additional Functions: Performs network reliability and performance analysis to provide recommendations for capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades. Develop and support system level redundancy and Disaster Recovery Infrastructure. Ability to participate in product discussions and to understand the needs of the team and recommend the proper tools. Lead the analysis of requirements that define the design for new and modification of existing tools, utilities, environments and systems Provide foresight into future technology trends, risks, or issues that will impact the organization and provide mitigation plans to address each Provide insight into best practices with systems management, processes and standards, application performance, capability, tuning, storage and network management Stays abreast of business, operational, and technology trends that may affect the organizations portfolio and strategy Good understanding of virtualization & cloud technologies - VMWare, AWS, Azure Strong Linux and Windows background in an enterprise environment Solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks). Qualifications: Required Experience / Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline 10+ years of experience with configuration, deployment, and support of infrastructure and the applications. 10+ years' experience in IT support in a 24x7 environment 10+ years related experience 10+ years' experience in Windows and Linux Administration 10+ years' experience with VMware Strong background in Linux and Windows Administration VMware ESX 7.0-current 10+ years of experience managing a highly available (99.999%) public-facing, front-end web server / website, with a focus on configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Familiarity with network troubleshooting Extensive Server hardware/software configuration experience Deep knowledge of building and configuring secure servers Preferred Experience / Education: MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent 8+ years monitoring experience tools like Nagios. 8+ years of experience with VM management, preferably VMWare. 8+ years knowledge of scripting with PowerShell, or equivalent scripting language. 10+ years expertise with OS and application installation methods. 5+ years of Microsoft 365 experience 10+ year experience with Microsoft Exchange Deep understanding of Windows traditional and SQL Clustering technologies. Along with SQL Availability Groups. Understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and principles. Extensive experience with Directory Services such as LDAP, TDS, LDS, Active Directory, ADFS Familiarity with server deployment technologies. HP BladeSystem / server blades or equivalent Support of storage area networks - preferably IBM Experience with backup technologies - preferably Rubrik What can Almac Group offer you?
