Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vice President, Performance Operations Manager to oversee daily performance across mutual funds, hedge funds, and institutional accounts. The successful candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously, investigate and resolve performance inquiries from internal stakeholders, and develop and deploy tools to proactively identify anomalies. In this role, you will also collaborate with our internal technology teams and outsourced service providers to document processes, enhance technological capabilities, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build and maintain tools to monitor and validate portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis. Develop, maintain, and automate performance reports, including those for detecting outliers, using Python, SQL, or other relevant technologies. Collaborate with investment teams and technology partners to enhance performance attribution systems and processes. Document processes, performance calculations, and methodologies clearly and effectively, tailored to the target audience (e.g., performance managers and end users) to provide transparency and visibility into system functionality. Analyze performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Proactively identify potential issues and implement corrective actions. Recommend and implement initiatives to streamline and automate workflows and reporting processes. Contribute to the ongoing development of automated reports to monitor attribution or performance-related outliers, including inherited reporting systems.
Position Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree or progress towards CFA or FRM is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in performance management/operations, risk management, or exposure to the transaction lifecycle of alternatives accounts from an operations perspective. Strong understanding of equity, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investment strategies. Experience working with attribution systems and documentation processes for non-technical audiences. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL is highly desirable. Comfortable with performance measurement methodologies, formulas, and risk measures. Demonstrated ability to calculate, validate, and interpret portfolio investment results, including attribution and benchmark analysis. Self-directed with strong problem identification and analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines and priorities effectively. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments, including technology, analytics, risk, operations, trade processing, and portfolio management.
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 137,500.00 - $ 195,000.00
