Make a real impact on high-risk youth as a Special Education Teacher in the Department of Youth Services (DYS). Help students overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Details:

• Pay: $55,329 - $78,363 + Benefits
• Schedule: M-F, 7:30am - 3:30pm, 185/186 days per year
• Location: Dorchester Secure / Commonwealth Secure Detention / Suffolk Secure Detention / Mariposa Girls Program

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized, engaging lessons aligned with IEPs
• Differentiate instruction based on student needs
• Collaborate with DYS staff to support student growth
• Provide social-emotional support and transition planning
• Monitor and report on IEP progress
• Engage families through conferences and events

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• MA license in Mild-to-Moderate Disabilities (Grades 5-12)
• Commitment to teaching high-risk youth
• Master's Degree preferred, multilingual candidates highly desired
