Senior SOX Compliance Analyst Location: San Diego, CA About the Company: A leading life sciences company dedicated to advancing biotech, biopharma, and diagnostics industries by providing essential products and services in nucleic acid production and biologics safety testing. With a strong focus on innovation, they support the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and cutting-edge diagnostic tools, especially in the growing mRNA field. Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior SOX Compliance Analyst to join the finance and accounting team. In this pivotal role, you will assist in risk management, control assessments, and maintaining the SOX compliance framework, working closely with stakeholders to ensure a seamless compliance process. You will play a key role in shaping control strategies, anticipating testing needs, and addressing deficiencies. Key Responsibilities: - Lead SOX scoping to identify key changes in financial accounts, processes, systems, and controls. - Collaborate with control owners and auditors to design and refine controls, while proactively managing testing and documentation requirements. - Engage with stakeholders to address control deficiencies and drive remediation efforts. - Manage and update the risk and control matrix and oversee quarterly certification processes using AuditBoard. - Facilitate control testing, walkthroughs, and coordinate between auditors and control owners. - Build strong working relationships with auditors and promote awareness of risk and control practices across all levels. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. - 3+ years of experience, ideally a blend of public accounting and public company work. - Deep experience with SOX compliance, including risk assessments and control design. - Strong ability to anticipate questions, assess risks independently, and think critically. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics. - Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX regulations, with familiarity in NetSuite and AuditBoard a plus. - CPA and/or CIA certification preferred. Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays in-office presence required. Compensation: The anticipated salary range is $80,000 - $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional long-term incentives include equity, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits as part of the total compensation package.
