A Maintenance Project Fabricator is responsible for designing and fabricating mechanical components and systems for various projects. This role involves working closely with maintenance planner, project managers, engineers, and area owners to ensure that all fabrication tasks meet project specifications and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Fabrication: Design and fabricate mechanical components based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on shop machinery and production equipment as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect fabricated components for quality and functionality, ensuring they meet project standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with project managers, engineers, area owners, and team members to coordinate fabrication tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes, maintenance activities, and project progress.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding and using various hand and power tools.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in fabrication and maintenance tasks.
  • Creativity: Generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Visualization: Imagining and sketching initial concepts.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding materials, tools, and processes.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on project progress.

Experience and Education:

  • Experience: 3 years' experience in a similar role required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding or fabrication is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Setting: Typically works in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Hours: Daylight and full-time, with potential for overtime depending on project needs.
