Position Overview:

The Senior Sales Engineer is a highly skilled professional who excels in both communication and technical expertise. This role is key in building strong professional relationships and developing innovative network solutions that address our customers' business challenges. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will collaborate with an Account Manager and other Sales Engineers on the team to drive revenue growth for Juniper by ensuring our customers achieve their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Support: Engage in pre-sales activities focusing on routing and data center architectures.
  • Customer & Partner Engagement: Directly interact with customers and partners to understand their needs, share information, and design collaborative solutions.
  • Solution Development: Lead the development of proposals, conduct solution demonstrations, and design and execute proof-of-concept tests.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Juniper teams to highlight emerging customer requirements, understand the competitive landscape, and ensure that Juniper and partner professional services deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Experience & Skills:

  • Technical Sales Experience: Proven success in technical sales to Cloud Hyperscalers or large Service Providers.
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in key technical domains, including:
    • Cloud/Hyperscaler architecture: Backbone/Core, DCI, Data Center IP CLOS Fabric design, Overlay/Underlay
    • Deep knowledge of Routing Protocols: IPv4, IPv6, BGP, BGP RR, EVPN, OSPF, ISIS, L3VPN, 6VPE, MPLS/RSVP-TE/TE++
    • AI networking: RoCEv2, Load balancing and Congestion Management: COS, DLB, GLB, ECMP, ECN/PFC, DC-QCN
    • ZTP, COS, CBF, FIPS, sFlow, Jflow, Telemetry, ISSU
  • Familiarity with Private Cloud services in the cloud sector: Oracle FastConnect, Azure ExpressRoute, AWS DX, etc..
    • Familiarity with transit provider types PNI, IX, etc..
  • Pre-Sales & Design Expertise: Experience in a pre-sales role selling networking equipment or hands-on experience in design, architecture, or vendor selection.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical and sales concepts to diverse audiences, including executive-level technical decision-makers.
  • Relationship Building: Strong understanding of how to foster successful relationships between an equipment manufacturer and its customers.
  • Product Knowledge: In-depth expertise in the following products or categories:
  • Juniper MX, PTX, QFX, EX, JRR, and SRX platforms
  • Virtualized platforms: vMX, vSRX, cRPD
  • Merchant silicon technologies: Silicon One, Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, etc.
  • Juniper ASICs: Trio & Express
  • Optics: 100G, 400G & 800G, AOC cables
  • Familiarity with Nvidia, Cisco & Arista product lines

Certifications: JNCIE, CCIE, or other expert-level industry certifications.

Education: A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field is desired.

Additional Information:

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required based on customer sales demand.

Minimum Salary: $206,400.00

Maximum Salary:$296,700.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $206,400.00 and $296,700.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
