The Role

The Estimator's role encompasses addressing basic, introductory questions about product applications, availability, and limitations. Additionally, this position creates project-specific estimates by analyzing plans and information provided by the outside sales team, the engineering department, and customers. Our Material Estimators provide high quality customer service to help position the company as a leader in cladding support solutions, ultimately generating accurate estimates in a timely manner.

What You'll Do




  • Communicates with customers, project teams and suppliers to understand project requirements, addresses questions, missing information, concerns or assumptions. Provides detailed explanations of estimates and clearly communicates assumptions to the sales team and customers.
  • Reviews all plans and specifications provided for product application and accurately formulates what is needed to complete the estimate; determines the intent of the architect or designer.
  • Analyzes and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine the scope of work, material requirements, and lead time.
  • Prepares detailed estimates for projects using estimating software and configurator from completed quantity take-offs or from customer-given quantities, meeting timelines and deadlines.
  • Ensures that accurate records and documentation are maintained from all estimates.
  • Effectively manages multiple customers, projects and quotes to fulfill demand and deadlines.
  • Tracks change orders for projects and communicates to customers and sales reps in a timely manner.
  • Maintains backlog of estimate requests from customers and sales reps using Epicor software. Ensures timely completion.
  • Prepares electronic quantity take offs for the appropriate product from supplied drawings and specifications using Bluebeam software.



Your Experience




  • Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering or similar field, or 2 years' experience in Construction Estimating or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be task oriented with organizational skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong desire to meet or exceed customer expectations.


  • Prior experience working in construction or manufacturing industry, preferred.



Additional Requirements



  • Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including a Drug Screen and Criminal Background.
