Job Description Base Salary of $45,000 with a Target Commission opportunity of $126,000 based on $3 million in Mortgage Loan Production Role: This position contributes to the success of Gulf Winds by proactively soliciting mortgage business and selling Gulf Winds' mortgage products. Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) at Gulf Winds are expected to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with area realtors, builders, attorneys and other sources of mortgage referrals. This position is responsible for providing excellent service - responding to member and potential member inquiries and referrals that are generated from their own efforts and from other Gulf Winds' channels. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine member financing objectives, advise members of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information. Proactively solicits new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships within the community, specifically with the real estate community; making outside sales calls to prospective members. Ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements. Meets mortgage loan operational standards by contributing mortgage loan information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and member-service standards; resolving problems. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Physical Security. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Performance Measurements:
Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Two to three years of similar or related experience. Must pass requirements for registration with NMLS. Education: A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills * Knowledge of conventional and/or government mortgage lending guidelines
Must have good communication skills; 10-key calculator and keyboard skills required. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly. Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. but may be required to work nights and/or weekends. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
