Operating Room (Full-time, Night Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Supervisor-Patient Care provides clinical management, including administrative, financial, and human resource management duties. Coordinates with the Manager/Director to manage and supervise day-to-day operations on designated unit(s). Collaborates with Director to ensure continuity of care is provided from shift-to-shift. Provides management presence after business hours. Serves as liaison among Manager, Director, team leaders, educators, and staff to implements new processes and changes in clinical practice; mentors and coaches staff. Evaluates assigned personnel for clinical competency and advancement on the clinical ladder. Performs other duties as needed. Meet one of the educational requirements and complete management course within the first six months of hired required: (1) Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports). (2) Associate's Degree in nursing with a Bachelor's Degree in a non-nursing field and a Master's degree in nursing (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports). Three years nursing experience in area of specialty and in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level required. One year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic life Support (BLS) certification required. American Heart Association (AHS) approved Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (depending on assignment). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation certification required (depending on assignment). Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization required (depending on assignment). Advanced training in Fetal Monitoring required (depending on assignment). Demonstrates competencies in clinical nursing, leadership, supervisory, management and communications skills, education, and/or staff development required. Knowledge of healthcare law and finance preferred. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
