Functioning as a member of the health care team, the Child Life Specialist is responsible for supporting children, teens, and family members in the health care setting by providing developmentally appropriate play/recreation and activities, education and preparation for medical procedures, and emotional support of the child and family.

  • This role is an onsite position and will report onsite daily as scheduled
  • This role requires for you to be located within a commutable distance of our office location listed below:
  • Texas: Lubbock
  • Work Shift: Day


: Evening



  • Job Shift: Part time (Non-exempt overtime status)


: Full time (Exempt overtime status)

Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or a closely related field and
  • Coursework/Training: Child life specific clinical training experience (e.g., practicum and/or internship) in a pediatric medical setting and
  • Coursework/Training: Trained in child development principles and impact of illness and hospitalization on children and families: Application of therapeutic play, developmental education, and expressive modalities to address psychosocial needs of children and families.
  • National Certified Child Life Specialist - Association of Child Life Professionals upon hire


Preferred qualifications:



  • 1 year of Experience working with young children and adolescents in a healthcare setting
