Position Summary:

The Lindy Scholars Program is a career exploration and mentoring initiative that pairs Temple University students, via their student clubs or organizations, with middle grade students for after-school programming. Temple's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), through the Center for Reimagining Excellence, Access and Transformation in Education (CREATE), is launching a one-year pilot of the program, adapting the model of the well-established Lindy Scholars Program at Drexel University to fit Temple's student experience and its partnership with the Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey School in North Philadelphia via the Temple Partnership Schools Network initiative. Through the pilot, Temple student clubs and organizations will work, after-school, with groups of middle school students at Duckrey on career-oriented, exploratory curricula, with the goal of a full program launch in the 2027-28 school year.

Under the leadership of CREATE's Senior Director of College Access and Pathway Programs, the Program Coordinator will manage the day-to-day planning, development, and implementation of the Lindy Scholars Program pilot at Temple. This position serves as the primary point of contact among Temple's Office of Student Affairs, participating Temple student clubs and organizations, the Temple liaisons situated at Duckrey, CEHD assessment colleagues, and Drexel's Lindy Scholars Program, ensuring the pilot is well-coordinated and positioned for a successful full launch.

The Coordinator works closely with Temple student club and organization leaders to prepare them to design and deliver after-school career-exploration content to middle grade students, and works closely with staff at Duckrey, particularly the staff member responsible for the school's before-/after-school programming, to ensure the pilot runs smoothly and responsively for participating students.

In addition to program coordination, the Coordinator builds and sustains the partnerships that make the pilot possible; leads recruitment, training, and ongoing support of Temple student clubs and organizations; coordinates pre- and post-session assessment with CEHD assessment colleagues; and helps synthesize lessons from the pilot into a proposal for the program's long-term continuation and expansion.
