JOB SUMMARY

Supports the food service team with basic food preparation and service tasks. Chops vegetables, assembles ingredients, and prepares basic dishes. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas, washes dishes, and disposes of kitchen waste properly. Responsible for operating cash registers accurately and efficiently. Adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

JOB FUNCTIONS

* Assists in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and preparing dishes.
* Serves food, ensuring portion control and adherence to dietary requirements.
* Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain hygiene standards.
* Replenishes food supplies and ingredients in the kitchen and serving areas.
* Assists with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
* Assists chefs and other kitchen staff with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
* Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
* Operate cash register/POS system accurately for all transactions
* Process customer purchases efficiently while providing courteous and professional service.
* Follow cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with hospital policies related to cash handling, security, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

* High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
* 0- 2 years of experience in food service or hospitality
* Navigate rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
* Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
* Follows precedents and procedures; may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines.
* Strong attention to detail and self-directed to consistently ensure data integrity and accuracy.
* Performs work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
* Basic computer skills. Ability to use a departmental work application may be required in certain areas.

Salary Range: Minimum 16.25/hour - Maximum 25.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
