Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist
Schedule/Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to support adult open heart procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgeries, and transplants. This role supports the surgical team through operating room preparation, sterile technique, and intraoperative assistance.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
• Maintain the sterile field and follow infection prevention protocols throughout surgery.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Support adult CABG, aortic, mitral, and pulmonic valve surgeries, and transplant procedures.
• Complete instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the surgical team.
• Float to the Main Operating Room when no cardiothoracic cases are scheduled during the shift.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of surgical technology experience, including required CVOR experience.
• Experience supporting adult open heart surgical procedures.
• Current certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room safety.

Additional Job Details

• Required on-call coverage: 24 hours per month.
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted.
• Scrubs are provided.
