Intern Architect

For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add an Intern Architect to help us keep building.

Working with our Architecture team, you will contribute to a variety of project types, including higher education, healthcare, municipal, commercial, and retail facilities. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals while gaining hands-on experience throughout the design and documentation process.


What You'll Do


  • Collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, and other project team members.
  • Assist with architectural design development from initial concepts through construction documentation.
  • Prepare building concepts, presentation materials, design documents, and construction documents.
  • Create and modify project models and drawings using Revit and other architectural design software.
  • Conduct material and product research to support project development.
  • Coordinate architectural documents with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits as needed.
  • Support the preparation of accurate, coordinated, and high-quality project deliverables.
  • Assist with other project and team responsibilities as needed.


What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited university.
  • Relevant architectural internship or co-op experience.
  • Experience developing architectural projects using Revit and SketchUp.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and similar design and graphics programs.
  • Interest in working toward architectural registration.
  • Strong design, visualization, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
