Position Summary

The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily Customer Service activities, addressing customer requirements, and ensuring effective service operations. This role provides team direction, monitors performance, resolves escalated issues, advances process improvement, and ensures alignment with divisional policies, procedures, and customer expectations.

This position plays a key role in promoting service excellence, operational efficiency, and positive customer relationships.

Scope, Supervision, and Interaction

This position reports to the Customer Service Manager and has direct reports. The Customer Service Supervisor provides guidance, coaching, training, and performance support to Customer Service team members while participating in daily operations. This role works closely with customers, Sales, Logistics, Procurement, Planning, Pricing, Operations, Supply Chain, and other internal departments to support business objectives and promote a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance, professionalism, and communication.
  • Resolve escalated, complex, or high-profile customer issues while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Monitor team performance, process accuracy, timeliness, and service metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead or support process improvements that improve efficiency, consistency, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Support order management activities as needed, including order entry, scheduling, pricing, order status, accuracy, and follow-up.
  • Ensure professional communication with internal and external customers through phone, email, and business systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support business priorities, and improve service outcomes.
  • Demonstrate and promote honesty, respect, reliability, adaptability, self-awareness, self-development, teamwork, flexibility, accountability, and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of customer support or customer service experience.
  • Prior leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and motivating others.
  • Knowledge of customer service processes, order management, and business systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, support team members, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
