Job Summary:
The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:
*Create and use Finite Element Analysis models either individually or in collaboration with supplier firm
*Log quality issues and arrange for corrections to models
*Perform model setup, submit jobs to high-performance computing cluster
*Perform simulations of static, modal, and dynamic simulations
*Develop understanding of design mechanical capacity for strength and fatigue
*Author reports containing assumptions, models and results
*Draw conclusions and make recommendations to design, simulation, and validation partners
*Contribute to and participate in peer reviews
*Contribute to improvements in simulation methods and processes

Skills:
* Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
* Team player and detail oriented.
* Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
* Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Education & Experience Required:
-BS in Mechanical Engineering or Related Engineering Field plus 5-7
-MS similarly plus 2-4
-PhD similarly plus 1-2
-Industrial experience in structural analysis, preferably with a focus on static and/or dynamic analysis
