DESCRIPTION

Under Supervision, the nurse will work in the UCSD Eating Disorders Center. They will work under the general supervision of day treatment psychiatrist to assist medical and psychiatric stability, provide basic medical and psychiatric care, and perform assigned nursing procedures for patients within UCSD Eating Disorders Center. Other duties include and not limited to: taking patient vital signs, administering medication, receiving verbal orders from physicians, and attending to emergent medical issues with difficult cases. Furthermore, the role requires that you anticipate team and patient needs, and assist during high-volume or critical moments. Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage complex patient dynamics across all age demographics (Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult), while collaborating closely within the EDC's multidisciplinary teams and outside care providers in the community.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) months of active nursing experience.
  • Six (6) months working with psychiatric, eating disordered, per diem (float team) or emergency department experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Per diem shift requirement is an average of 2-3 shifts per week. Must be available for weekend shifts. This is subject to change based on department needs.
  • This will be three days a week AM shift with potential to cover vacations T, TH, and Saturdays.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
