DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This internship focuses on developing communication skills while supporting storytelling and media work for the Farm Show. Your responsibilities will focus on creating content, assisting with public outreach, and helping highlight agriculture in meaningful ways. As an Agricultural Communications Intern, you will perform the following duties:
- Media Support: Collect daily media clips and help draft and share news releases
- Content Creation: Capture, edit, and post photos and videos from Farm Show events
- Event Assistance: Plan, promote, and staff events throughout the Farm Show
- Story Development: Help create content that highlights agriculture and tells stories from the show
- Communications Outreach: Assist with general communication tasks for the Department of Agriculture

- Internship period will begin in January 2027 and continue through the Farm Show which will be held January 7, 2027 through January 16, 2027.
- Work hours will vary between 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours vary during Farm Show hours and will include evenings and weekends as required.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:

Communications -
Journalism -
Public Relations -
Marketing -
Animal Science -
Photography -
Agricultural Science
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment as a full-time student at a Pennsylvania college or university.
- Completion of Freshman year of college.
