Job Description Role Overview: Director of Product - Tools and Services: Visa Developer has experienced tremendous growth over the past six years, evolving into a comprehensive ecosystem of platforms, products, tools, and services that enable clients to build, test, integrate, and scale innovative payment experiences. As Visa continues to expand its client-facing capabilities and accelerate digital transformation initiatives, seamless integration across platforms and services has become increasingly critical to delivering exceptional client outcomes. The Director of Product - Tools and Services will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the strategy for the tools, services, and integration capabilities that power the Visa Developer ecosystem. This leader will be responsible for driving product innovation, establishing a cohesive product integration architecture across the Client Platforms portfolio, and ensuring clients can efficiently onboard, develop, test, and scale solutions across Visa's products and services. This role requires a strategic product leader who can balance long-term vision with execution excellence, partner closely with technology and business stakeholders, and serve as a trusted advisor across multiple product domains. The ideal candidate combines deep product management expertise with a passion for developer experiences, platform ecosystems, and large-scale client transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and execute the long-term strategy for developer tools, platform services, and ecosystem integration capabilities across the Client Platforms portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to create client value through innovative platform capabilities, enhanced user journeys, and differentiated developer experiences.
- Develop product roadmaps that align with Visa's strategic priorities while addressing evolving client and market needs.
- Drive adoption and utilization of platform tools and services through clear value propositions and measurable business outcomes.
Platform Integration and Architecture Leadership:
- Establish and champion the product integration architecture strategy across Client Platforms to deliver consistent, connected client experiences.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, and product organizations to ensure interoperability between platforms, services, and client-facing solutions.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that simplify integrations, reduce client complexity, and accelerate time-to-value for clients.
- Act as a strategic advisor on platform modernization efforts and ecosystem-wide technical investments.
Developer Tools and Testing Experience:
- Lead the vision and product strategy for advanced testing and simulation capabilities, including stateful sandbox environments and end-to-end test scenario creation.
- Define innovative approaches that enable clients to validate integrations, test complex business workflows, and accelerate solution delivery.
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and intuitive tools that improve developer productivity and client satisfaction.
Client Onboarding Services:
- Drive the integration strategy for client onboarding services across the broader Client Platforms organization.
- Simplify and streamline onboarding experiences by connecting disparate processes, tools, and services into cohesive client journeys.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify friction points and implement scalable solutions that improve onboarding effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Client Migration and Transformation Leadership:
- Provide product leadership for large-scale client migration and platform adoption initiatives.
- Partner with business, technology, and client-facing teams to drive successful migrations while minimizing operational disruption.
- Develop migration strategies, success metrics, and governance models to ensure positive client outcomes and business value realization.
- Serve as an executive stakeholder for strategic client engagements and complex transformation programs.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Influence:
- Act as a trusted consultant and thought partner to product management, engineering, architecture, operations, and client-facing teams.
- Influence strategic decisions across multiple product organizations through data-driven recommendations and industry best practices.
- Foster collaboration across organizational boundaries to align priorities, investments, and execution plans.
Talent Development and Organizational Leadership:
- Mentor and coach product managers across varying levels of experience, helping elevate product management excellence throughout the organization.
- Establish and promote best practices for product strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, customer discovery, and product delivery.
- Create a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- As the organization evolves, build and lead a high-performing product management team responsible for tools and services product portfolios.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Experience in creating vision statements and setting product goals.
- Experience in defining product strategy.
- Experience in product design.
- Experience in customer discovery and the design of new products based on that discovery.
- Experience in product execution.
- Experience in defining and leading plans to achieve product goals.
- Experience working in Agile frameworks and matrixed organizations.
- Experience in process or core banking best practices.
- Experience recruiting, growing, retaining, and leading technical talent.
- Experience collaborating in global, cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to forecast business trends.
- Senior product management experience in Digital, Payments, and Financial Services.
- Proven track record of launching and managing digital products for issuers.
- Deep background in issuing institutions and managing large card portfolios.
- Experience in developing or launching new solutions and managing engagement, UX, and UI transformation.
- Experience leading difficult deal negotiations and managing third-party vendors.
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual rigor.
- Experience managing diverse teams with positive records.
