Batcher Operator

The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Build the Batches That Keep Production Moving

In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will produce chemical batches for assigned production lines and help the team meet the manufacturing schedule. You will oversee key parts of the batching process, including component verification, sampling, waste control, and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Hours

• This role follows a four-day, 10-hour schedule with Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays regularly off.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed, especially during busy season, with limited time off during that period.
  

• Follow batch records accurately from start through production.
• Verify components and confirm chemical inventory is available before batching; stage materials as needed.
• Execute batch instructions and sample batches at multiple stages.
• Perform quality checks and make appropriate batch decisions and adjustments based on results.
• Troubleshoot and, when needed, rebuild batching equipment.
• Control waste in the batching area and transfer waste to the holding tank.
• Maintain strong housekeeping and spill-control practices in the batch room.
• Communicate potential quality or procedural concerns to the Liquid Fence Supervisor.
• Practice safe work habits, support team success, and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Complete other assigned duties.

• High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of batching experience.

• Intermediate math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimal conversions.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain full-face respirator certification.

This position works approximately 90% in a manufacturing environment and 10% in an office environment.

• Regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.

• Frequently use hands to handle or feel, climb or balance, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.

• Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, smell, and lift or move up to 100 pounds.
