Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) or more years of paid work experience in an administrative office setting; proficiency with office software, preferably Microsoft Office. Experience working with underserved populations and knowledge of organizing events around social issues. Education beyond an Associate's preferred.
Must be a skilled communicator, both orally and in written form and possess exceptional interpersonal skills to handle high level internal and public contact; high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail required as well as the ability to cope with simultaneous and competing work demands also required.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Technical Assistant reports to the Chief Diversity Officer or their designee and performs the following duties:
1. Assists with the planning of community and campus events. Quantify data collected from workshops.
2. May provide oversight of ongoing program initiatives for the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
3. Maintains the Office functions of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging including but not limited to reception, ordering and inventory of office supplies, processing of mail including correspondence with both internal and external agencies and assists with the preparation of weekly agendas.
4. Coordinates events and appointments and maintains administrative calendar of meetings and activities for the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging including weekly lists of community and campus events.
5. Update, review and maintain Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging social media presence and website.
6. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Salary: This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $40,000-$42,000.
