Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking to hire a Scrum Master to support Agile delivery across multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with product vision, organizational priorities, and business value. This role acts as the primary facilitator for Agile processes while enabling technical teams to deliver highquality solutions on time and within budget. The Scrum Master collaborates closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and engineering leadership to maintain team velocity, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement across the directorate.

Location: Full-time Remote

Key Responsibilities:

    Facilitate Agile ceremonies for multiple engineering subteams: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
  • Serve as Scrum Master for 3-4 concurrent engineering teams within the Engineering & Development Directorate (CPT/EPMP, IRAD Gen AI, Platform & Enablement, O&M)
  • Identify, remove, and escalate impediments to ensure consistent delivery and team performance
  • Coach and mentor teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices
  • Maintain sprint backlogs, velocity tracking, and burndown charts using Agile tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or equivalent)
  • Support crossteam coordination and dependency management across the engineering portfolio
  • Drive continuous improvement through effective retrospective facilitation and followthrough on action items
  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog health, wellrefined stories, and sprint goal readiness
  • Provide Agile metrics and team health reporting to the Engineering & Development Director
  • Support onboarding of new team members to Agile practices, team norms, and delivery workflows

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience.
    • In lieu of degree: 6 years of directly relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master or Agile facilitator supporting software engineering teams.
  • Certification:
    • Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification required at time of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies for technical/engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple teams concurrently.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in a defense or government contracting environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Agile certifications: SAFe Agilist (SA), Advanced CSM (ACSM), or PMIACP
  • Experience supporting DoD or IC programs in an Agile capacity.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other enterprisescale Agile frameworks.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML or Cyber engineering teams.
  • Exposure to IRAD (Independent Research & Development) programs.
  • Experience facilitating multiteam Scrum of Scrums environments.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows in classified environments.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
