The Quality Management Systems (QMS) Quality SIS Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Trenton Engine Plant's Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards while serving as a key leader in the plant's Quality SIS Program. This role manages internal and external audits, develops and maintains quality documentation, work instructions, and forms, and drives continuous improvement initiatives aligned with global and regional quality standards. This position will work closely with manufacturing, production, plant quality, and corporate teams to identify risks, implement corrective actions, track quality-related activities, and report progress to plant leadership. In addition, the role leads management review processes, supports quality commitment initiatives, trains leaders on Quality SIS requirements, and ensures ongoing compliance through effective communication, reporting, and auditing. The ideal candidate combines strong quality management expertise, manufacturing experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a unionized environment while driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.



Manage the plant Quality Management System and ISO 9001 standards as well as lead the Quality SIS program at Trenton Engine Plant.



Major Duties:



  • Enthusiastically support and contribute to Trenton's Quality SIS Program.
  • Train department unit leaders in Quality SIS Program requirements
  • Manage plant QMS and ISO 9001 standards and systems for the plant.
  • Develop the plant standard documents, work instructions, and forms to comply with the global and regional standards.
  • Develop the plan for and lead the in-plant audit process for internal audits as well as manage a group of internal process/ISO auditors.
  • Manage the internal and external audit process with Regional Manufacturing Quality and 3rd party auditing company.
  • Lead the documenting and reporting of open issues and risks identified from internal and external audits.
  • Communicate issues/status with the Quality/Manufacturing teams regarding implementation activities for global and regional standards.
  • Support monthly activities for Quality Commitments program, reporting progress to the plant management.
  • Work with regional and global manufacturing quality, production control, manufacturing, and plant quality to identify and implement improvement opportunities in areas of cost and quality. Track responsible activities and report out on implementation of QMS/ISO standards throughout the plant.
  • Prepare and document plant Management Review annually, at a minimum, tracking and reporting on open issues identified in the management review.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work in a Union environment and manage HBU employees
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the Plant/Quality staff and Corporate Level Management


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in castings, forging, machining, or other areas of component/powertrain manufacturing operations. Powertrain or assembly plant experience in supplier quality, product quality, or quality operations
  • Knowledge of Stellantis Quality Management System and Stellantis Manufacturing Quality Standards

  • Experience leading or developing a quality management system for a manufacturing environment



  • Green belt/Black belt certification




Physical Demands:



  • Regularly required to stand or walk while talking or listening
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to feel and reach
  • Occasionally required to lift in excess of 20 pounds


Working Environment:



  • Normally indoor manufacturing and office environment
  • Noise level is moderate to loud requiring hearing protection in certain areas on the floor
  • Safety glasses are always required on the production floor
  • Weekend/rotational work may be required


Organizational Alignment:



  • This position will report directly to Product Quality Engineering Manager.
