The Opportunity

The School of Social Work in the College of Health Professions and Sciences at the University of Central Florida invites applications for a 12-month, nontenure-earning, instructor or lecturer position. The selected candidate will be expected to teach face-to-face courses on the UCF main campus, with an anticipated start date of Spring 2027.

The ideal candidate will have a primary focus on teaching in both the BSW and MSW programs across online and campus-based formats. The position emphasizes excellence in teaching, fostering student engagement, and the effective delivery of undergraduate and/or graduate curriculum. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate is expected to engage in meaningful service at the school, college, university, and community levels.

The School of Social Work is recognized nationally for the quality of its educational programs and its contributions to clinical social work, health care, scholarship, and community engagement. The school includes 34 full-time faculty, 14 staff, numerous adjunct instructors, and more than 900 students. The school offers both BSW and MSW programs with multiple campus based and online tracks.

The College of Health Professions and Sciences includes three schools, one department, and six centers and institutes and is a core member of the UCF Academic Health Sciences Center, alongside the College of Nursing and College of Medicine. The college is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and community impact.

Minimum Qualifications


  • For instructor rank, candidates must hold an MSW from a CSWE -accredited program at the time of application.

  • For lecturer rank, candidates must hold an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program anda Ph.D./DSW in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution at the time of application.

  • At least one year of teaching experience in face to face and/or online formats.

  • Two years of post MSW clinical social work practice experience.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in sport social work or child and adolescent social work.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement innovative teaching practices, with evidence of strong teaching accomplishments and curriculum development.
