Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Electrical Lab Technician to support product development, product sustainment, and certification testing for electrical distribution products. This position is responsible for conducting mechanical and electrical testing, assembling test setups, documenting test results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting laboratory organization and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, enjoys hands-on laboratory work, and is comfortable supporting multiple testing projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Conduct electrical and mechanical testing in accordance with applicable industry standards.
  • Perform thermal, dielectric, short-circuit, vibration, and calibration testing on electrical products.
  • Assemble products and test setups to support engineering and product development activities.
  • Record accurate test data and maintain documentation for engineering review.
  • Assist with the repair, maintenance, and organization of laboratory test fixtures and equipment.
  • Track test requests, test samples, and laboratory equipment status.
  • Support laboratory organization through 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow established environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures and promote a safe work environment.
  • Support multiple testing projects while meeting engineering deadlines.
  • Share technical knowledge and assist in developing best practices within the laboratory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in an electrical, mechanical, laboratory, or technical environment.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field required.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and technical aptitude.
  • Experience conducting laboratory testing or troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Ability to accurately document test procedures and results using computer-based systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hands-on experience in automotive mechanics, HVAC repair, industrial maintenance, or similar technical trades is highly preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Education



  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, testing, or technical environment required.
  • Experience performing electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical testing preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in automotive mechanics, HVAC repair, industrial maintenance, or related technical trades is highly preferred.
