Be a foundational leader in shaping the future of our judicial system! We are seeking an innovative Judicial Clerk Supervisor to launch operations for our brand-new court, officially opening January 1, 2027.

In this high-impact role, you will have the rare opportunity to build your team from the ground up-hand-selecting, onboarding, and mentoring new staff prior to the official opening date (operating temporarily from an interim location during the startup phase). Working closely with the Judge, you will provide strategic leadership, direct daily court operations, and foster a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture.

Beyond staff development, you will drive operational excellence by overseeing case management compliance, managing court financial operations (including budgets, reconciliations, and audits), and serving as a key liaison to public and external agencies. We Require

• Five years of court, legal, or justice system experience, including three years in a legal or court administrative role

• High school diploma or GED

• A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

• Previous experience working as a lead and/or supervisory experience

• Justice Court experience

Job Contributions

• Provides overall leadership to the court and support to the Judge

• Develops and monitors daily operations and coordinates court activities, ensuring goals and objectives of the court are being met

• Performs all personnel functions for the court, including hiring, supervising, training, evaluating, disciplining staff, and assigning duties/responsibilities

• Develops work plans in accordance with established court procedures and objectives, and funding limitations in respect to workload and case filings to ensure operational efficiencies

• Develops employee evaluation plans and goals, evaluates performance, and ensures professional development of employees

• Monitors work in progress and ensures completion

• Participates in the development and administration of the justice court system budget.

• Prepares and evaluates internal and external management information reports regarding revenue, workload, caseload, and service trends

• Reviews legislation to determine its impact on the court

• Investigates and responds to public complaints and requests for information or service in accordance with established policies and procedures

• Prepares detailed statistical reports

• Ensures that cases are being processed and retained according to all applicable rules, statutes, and time standards

• Oversees all financial reconciliations in the court, including daily and monthly reporting, and undergoes various financial audits

• Provides for Pro Tem coverage and approves Pro Tem payment voucher

• Serves as liaison to outside agencies and, along with the Judge, serves as the representative of the court

Working Conditions

• Work primarily occurs in an office setting

• Hybrid and alternative work schedules may be available depending on the court location, subject to the discretion of the hiring manager and business needs. Not all court locations offer these schedules, as this is a customer-facing position requiring in-person support. If available, such arrangements may be considered after a specified period, which varies by location

• This position may include exposure to traumatic subject matter

• Must demonstrate professionalism and composure when engaging with individuals who may be emotional, distressed, or confrontational as a result of court-related matters
