About the Opportunity

Acara Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to support a global leader in the energy industry at its Orlando, Florida location. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale gas turbine projects, providing engineering expertise for critical auxiliary mechanical systems that support power generation equipment.

In this role, you'll develop technical specifications, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, support suppliers throughout the manufacturing process, and provide technical guidance from project design through commissioning.

What You'll Do
  • Develop technical specifications for auxiliary mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct technical reviews, and participate in supplier negotiations.
  • Perform technical assessments and risk evaluations to support procurement decisions.
  • Review engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical support to Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.
  • Ensure supplier designs meet project requirements and customer specifications.
  • Support manufacturing activities and perform shop inspections as needed.
  • Provide field support during equipment installation, commissioning, and warranty activities.
  • Assist Bid Management with technical proposal development.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, equipment design, supplier evaluation, or technical procurement support.
  • Experience supporting industrial or power generation projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation, technical specifications, and supplier management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and global engineering teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
