Description

As a Central Service Technician (CST), you will play a vital role in supporting patient care across the UCLA Health System by ensuring clinical areas are consistently stocked with the medical supplies and equipment needed for safe, efficient operations. This position is responsible for the distribution, replenishment, and inventory management of supplies in alignment with departmental priorities and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain optimal inventory levels across assigned supply locations by replenishing stock to established PAR levels and placing orders to ensure continuous availability.

* Monitor inventory utilization and turns, proactively adjusting PAR levels to meet changing clinical demand and minimize shortages.

* Support inventory control initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and supply reliability.

* Receive and process incoming shipments by verifying deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely distribution.

* Transport medical supplies and equipment (up to 50 pounds) to designated clinical and storage locations.

* Restock supply areas, maintain clean and organized storage spaces, and ensure proper product rotation and storage standards.

* Manage all aspects of PAR inventory, including module supply carts in assigned clinical areas and accurate inventory documentation.

* Follow up on vendor direct orders to ensure ontime delivery and address supply issues as needed.

* Maintain and update barcode labels to support accurate inventory tracking and system alignment.

Collaboration & Impact

* Work closely with clinical staff and supply chain teams to respond to realtime supply needs.

* Ensure procedural and patient care areas remain fully stocked to support uninterrupted daily operations and highquality patient care.

Pay Range: $26.37 - $34.83 hourly

Qualifications

  • Strictly obeys the healthcare
    regulations for infection control.
  • Provides resources information regarding
    proper sterilization techniques, product information, equipment operation
    etc. to fellow staff and other healthcare team members, serving as a
    resource for people needing direction as required.
  • Consistently demonstrates a high degree
    of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Actively participates in Quality
    Management and PIE programs.
  • Consistently adheres to Materials
    Management / Receiving and UCLA Policies and procedures.
  • Attends all in-services/workshops as
    requested. Assists in the
    orientation and skill development of new staff members. Attends and participates in required
    fire, safety, disaster, body mechanics, etc classes and/or drills.
  • Always ensures a safe, clean working
    environment for self and co-workers. Monitors and reports unsafe acts or conditions and assists with
    resolutions.
  • Consistently maintains good guest
    relations interdepartmentally, intra-departmentally, using English
    language in both written and verbal format. Demonstrates good telephone
    etiquette. Is sensitive to co-workers, patients, and family members, in a
    courteous and respectful manner.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and
    behavior: efficient with time utilization/productive, strives to be a team
    member, prompt attitude, adapts to change in workload, adapts to variable
    rotating shifts, conducts personal business on break or lunch time.
  • Always responds to the needs of all
    areas. If unable to meet the needs,
    keeps the area informed and offers alternatives
  • Ability to push, pull up to 100 pounds
    and lift up to 50 pounds.
