VHB's is growing and seeking a Senior Project Engineer Highway Roadway Design to join us.

Responsibilities

    Produces and delivers complex highway design projects from inception through the construction administration phase on multiple types of projects including design build, TIPP funded, and Municipal led.
  • Assists with the preparation of proposals and/or contracts.
  • Assists with scope and fee development and tracks project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget, including invoicing.
  • Interdisciplinary technical task management that adheres to project schedule and budget.
  • Design of highways and roads including development of geometric layout, grading and drainage, utilities, and environmental permitting
  • Reviews complete project documents for interdisciplinary conformity and quality assurance.
  • Manages the development of technical design and specification documents
  • Mentors junior team members by providing guidance to technical team members and reviews their work for accuracy.
  • Participates in professional and personal development.

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experienced user of Civil 3D, including corridor development
  • Capability to lead/mentor junior staff
  • Adept at technical task management and oversight
  • Aptitude for public presentations

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering, MS preferred
  • 5-8+ years' minimum experience in professional transportation engineering
  • PE expected
  • Must have experience with DOT and/or any regional DOT-funded municipal roadway improvement projects
  • Must have valid driver's license, as the position requires travel to client meetings and project sites

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Watertown, MA is $110,000-140,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
