The Assistant Director of Human Resources reports to the Director of HR & HR Business Partner and serves as the lead HR professional for two organizations within the Administrative Services and Strategic Executive Team (ASSET); Auxiliary Services (Aux) and Finance & Administration (F&A). ASSET is part of the Finance & Administration organizational unit. F&A is one of the campus's largest and most complex units, with 3 Organizational accountability structures, 18 Divisions, supporting 51 departments. As part of ASSET the Assistant Director serves in a consultative role, supporting the human resources needs of Aux and F&A. The Assistant Director of HR (AD of HR) is responsible for the coordination and delivery of a variety of human resources services in support of organizational management. Advises and provides consultation to management on workforce planning, and oversees two Sr. HR Generalists responsible for compensation and classification, job description development, recruitment, personnel policies and procedures. This confidential position is also responsible for employee and labor relations, including sitting in on labor management meetings, and participating in grievance meetings, collecting information and providing guidance on disciplinary, and other areas of human resources. Serves as the point of contact for a diverse workforce including union represented staff; responds to inquiries, questions, requests and concerns, delegating work as appropriate Gathers and analyzes human resources data as needed. Represents supported organizations and divisions and ASSET Human Resources as an HR professional on campus-wide workgroups and committees, ensuring organizational and departmental needs are appropriately represented and addressed. This position is characterized by a high degree of collaboration and coordination in the delivery of HR services.

The full salary range for the Assistant Director, Human Resources is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $135,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
