Fleet Operations Manager Location: Carlsbad, NM (On-site) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) Pay: $27.00 - $30.00/hour (Based on experience) Start Date: July 20, 2026 * About the Role* We are seeking a Fleet Operations Manager to oversee and support a large-scale vehicle fleet (500+ units) for a key client. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in fleet management, logistics, and vendor coordination who thrives in a hands-on, operational environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring fleet efficiency, maintaining compliance, and delivering high-quality service to both internal stakeholders and external partners. * Key Responsibilities* * Oversee daily fleet operations, including maintenance, compliance, and safety standards * Manage the full vehicle lifecycle (acquisition, maintenance, inspections, and disposal) * Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders * Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely repairs and service delivery * Monitor and optimize fleet costs and operational efficiency * Implement and track preventive maintenance programs * Maintain accurate inventory and reporting on fleet performance * Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements * Identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency initiatives * Required Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent required * 5+ years of fleet management experience (maintenance, logistics, operations) * Experience with vendor management and client-facing support * Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and compliance * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills * Ability to be on your feet and active for extended periods * Availability to work weekends and occasional holidays * Preferred Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field * Experience in oil field, logistics, or transportation environments * Background in client account management (B2B preferred) * Experience working with large fleets (100+ vehicles) * Ideal Candidate* * Hands-on leader with strong operational mindset * Comfortable working in both office and field environments * Strong communicator with customer service focus * Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities * High level of integrity and accountability * Work Environment* * Fully on-site role managing fleet operations * Mix of office work and field-based responsibilities * Supporting a large, high-volume fleet operation (500+ vehicles) * Additional Details* * Role created due to program expansion and operational restructuring * Opportunity to support a large enterprise client fleet * Performance measured through client satisfaction and operational metrics * Compliance Requirements* Must be able to pass: * Background check * Drug screening (including random testing) * Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check * Benefits (If Eligible)* * Medical, dental, vision * 401(k) with pre-tax & Roth options * Life insurance * Short- & long-term disability * Health Savings Account (HSA) * PTO and employee assistance programs Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, NM.
