THE POSITION

The Department of Community and Economic Development is seeking an Economic Development Analyst 1 who is ready to learn, grow, and support important funding programs. In this role, you will assist with reviewing applications, working with grantees, and helping projects stay on track. You will build strong communication and evaluation skills while supporting programs that benefit communities statewide. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports several grant programs by reviewing applications, assisting applicants, and helping maintain accurate project records. The work ensures that program requirements are met and that funding decisions are supported with clear information. As an Economic Development Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Application Review: Evaluate program applications and help determine eligibility based on guidelines
  • Information Requests: Request additional details from applicants to complete program reviews
  • Customer Support: Respond to questions from applicants and provide technical assistance
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and distribute contract documents and maintain project files
  • Payment Review: Check payment requests and supporting materials for compliance with program requirements
  • Data Management: Update project records and track progress in program databases

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
