About the Job

Position Overview

This person will work at the Mid-Central Research and Outreach laboratory in Willmar, Minnesota. The position is part-time and temporary with the goal of providing basic day-to-day assistance within the laboratory. The person filling this position will work under the direct supervision of Jeannette Munoz-Aguayo and overall supervision of Dr. Tim Johnson. They will assist Ms. Munoz-Aguayo with basic laboratory activities,including preparation of reagents, basic microbiological tasks, and basic molecular biology tasks.

Work Schedule

  • The position will require 15-20 hours per week of work on a flexible schedule during normal working hours (M-F 8am-5pm).
  • This is a Summer position which will end at or near the start of the Fall semester.
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required Qualifications

  • This position is intended for high school students entering their junior or senior years
  • These students must have taken high school biology
  • No laboratory experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred high school classes include microbiology, algebra, and chemistry
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
