What You Will Do:

The PACU Nurse Manager is accountable for assessing, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care in his/her area of responsibility. The Manager assures adherence to Sibley Memorial Hospital policies and procedures and supports and fosters the Sibley Memorial Hospital mission and vision. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and the processes that lead to continuous performance improvement. His/Her role includes clinical practice, staff development and continuing education, management and leadership, consultation and support. The manager works with members of administration, physicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary staff to assure that lines of communication are open and processes for quality patient care and problem resolution are in place.

The PACU receives cases from Main OR, Interventional Radiology & Endoscopy at times. They also occasionally get patients from our Sibley Ambulatory Surgery Center (SASC). The nurse manager would oversee PACU, Pre-op and the Pre-Surgical Testing center.

Who Should Apply:



  • Master of Nursing (MSN) (Required). Applicants with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Master's of Nursing (MSN) program. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 Years of Experience in clinical nursing (Required); registered nursing or nursing leadership experience in a PACU is strongly preferred.
  • Previous clinical management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience navigating rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
  • Advanced knowledge of aligned field and process in order to effectively manage operations.
  • Current Maryland RN license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Salary Range: Minimum 63.31/hour - Maximum 98.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
