Intake Specialist - Dental Clinic

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is seekingan Intake Specialistfor afull-time (40-hour week) for the Dental clinic.Are you friendly, organized, and passionate about providing excellent customer service? We are seeking a Dental Intake Specialist to join our Child & Teen Dental Clinic. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families. You will welcome clients, answer phones, and manage check-in/check-out processes. This position focuses on front-facing, task-based responsibilities that keep daily clinic flow running smoothly. Responsibilitiesinclude:


  • Coordinates, schedules, and reschedulesappointments



  • Provides detailed informationin regard totelephone or personal inquiries utilizing different sources



  • Interprets, applies, and explains procedures,programand services eligibility criteria



  • Consults various reference materials, servicecodesand program rules to ensure proper procedures, documentation and deadlines are met



  • Enters, updates, and completes data entry of various records, reports,and/or forms; prepares charts for filing of new/closed cases



  • Preparescorrespondence and time-sensitive documentsfor distribution to appropriate personnel


Additional Responsibilities include:


  • Reconciles filesutilizingestablished record keeping systems



  • Assistwith off-site programs, healthfairsor other related activities



  • Must be able to respond to public health emergencies when needed; during an emergency response, be assigned to a role or duty outside of normal duty position



  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent



  • One(1)year of post high school work experience in an office setting preferably in a public service environment



  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment



  • Must have excellent phone etiquette, customer service, data entry, organizational, and communication skills



  • Electronic medical records (EMR)experience is highly desirable



  • Persons who speak Spanish and/or French are highly encouraged to apply.


CUPHD provides a comprehensive benefits package which includes:


  • CUPHD offers qualified bilingual employees anadditional$3.00 per hour, upon approval.



  • Eligible employees may complete languageproficiencytesting upon hire and can begin receiving the stipend as soon as they are approved.

The expected annual starting salaryis$34,765 ($16.71/hr.). Full annual salary range for a Class2 Intake Specialistis $34,765- $46,932for a 40-hour week.

The expected annual starting salary for bilingual employees is $40,996 ($19.71/hr.) Full annual salary range for a Class 2 Intake Specialist is $34,765 - $46,932 for a 40-hour week.
