Job Description




As a Security Officer - Executive Highrise Building in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities appropriate to a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report details according to Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the location, including sales floors, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help identify unusual activity and security-related concerns.
  • Monitor assigned areas for policy violations, suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or unauthorized access, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Support closing, opening, and general retail operations by observing customer and employee activity, assisting with directions and information, and helping to deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted behavior through visible presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
