Security Officer - Full Time - Housing Facility

As a Security Officer State Licensed Patrol Expert in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to location protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, grounds, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access when required, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Support a professional environment within a government location by giving directions, assisting with de-escalation when appropriate, and communicating clearly with staff, visitors, and/or first responders during routine and unusual events.

Minimum Requirements:

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
