Description Our Client is seeking a Network Engineer for a 6-month contract to support its enterprise network team. This role focuses on day-to-day network operations, including troubleshooting, ticket resolution, switch support, and general network maintenance. The primary objective is to reduce operational workload for senior engineers, enabling them to focus on strategic, project-based initiatives. The environment is largely Cisco-based, encompassing switching, routing, and wireless infrastructure. The team also leverages automation for routine support tasks. While prior automation experience is not required, this role provides hands-on exposure to Python-based network automation. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level network engineer looking to gain practical, enterprise-level experience in a collaborative environment. Contractors are fully integrated into the team and treated as valued contributors. Key Responsibilities * Network Operations & Support * Monitor and maintain network performance and reliability * Troubleshoot and resolve tickets in a timely manner * Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and system expansions with minimal disruption * Network Infrastructure * Support Cisco switching, routing, and wireless environments * Assist with configuration, installation, and testing across multi-site locations * Maintain accurate documentation of network topology and configurations * Security & Access Management * Support firewall configurations and network security processes * Assist with user access control, permissions, and authentication systems * Contribute to maintaining security best practices across the network * Advanced Technologies (Exposure Opportunity) * Work alongside senior* engineers on tools such as Cisco ISE, DNAC, and CUCM/UCCE* * Gain exposure to wireless security (RADIUS, 802.1x) and telecom/SIP routing Required Skills * Network Engineering fundamentals * Cisco Routers and Switches * Troubleshooting and ticket management Preferred Qualifications * Experience: 2-4 years of network engineering or network support experience * Certifications: Cisco certifications (CCNA or equivalent preferred) * Technical Exposure: Basic understanding of Python or interest in automation * Operational Knowledge: Experience supporting enterprise environments and adherence to configuration and security best practices Core Competencies * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment Experience Level Junior to Intermediate Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Green Bay, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $53.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
