Microsoft Power Platform Consultant - Senior Associate
Job Summary:
Lafayette Group is seeking experienced professionals to provide advanced consulting support for federal cybersecurity programs. The Microsoft Power Platform Consultant plays a crucial role in designing and implementing dynamic, intuitive, data-driven solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. This role requires expertise in front-end development and proficiency with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate to translate complex data into user-friendly applications and dashboards. Tasks will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrating data from diverse sources, and creating impactful data visualizations and user interfaces. Additionally, the Microsoft Power Platform Consultant will work with stakeholders to employ user experience design principles and tailor applications to the specific needs and preferences of customers, ensuring the solutions deliver an exceptional and tailored user experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, data consultants, and data experts to gather requirements and design effective data-driven solutions using the Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI).
- Develop and customize Power Apps to meet specific business needs, leveraging the low-code capabilities to create efficient and scalable applications tailored to acquisition, budget, and senior leadership stakeholders needs.
- Create insightful and interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI or other systems data visualization systems, that allow stakeholders to gain actionable insights from complex data sets.
- Provide ongoing support to clients by performing in-depth data analysis and communicating key insights from dashboards to stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough testing of developed applications and dashboards to ensure data accuracy, functionality, and performance. Address and resolve any technical issues or bugs as they arise.
- Provide training and support to end-users, enabling them to effectively use the Power Platform applications and tools.
- Carry out activities to support continuous improvement in the development process, exploring ways to optimize performance, enhance user experiences, and improve overall data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 3+ years of experience and strong knowledge in developing custom applications using the Power Apps platform (or equivalent common data models), including canvas and model-driven apps.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models in a professional or client-facing environment.
- Strong analytical skills to understand complex data requirements, translate them into actionable solutions, and troubleshoot issues that may arise during development.
- Ability to design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to streamline business processes.
- Knowledge of methods for applying usability and accessibility standards to ensure the developed applications are user-friendly, inclusive, and easily navigable.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain suitability which will require successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.

- Candidates who bring one or more of the following complementary skill areas are especially encouraged to apply:
- Experience with ServiceNow, including integration with Microsoft Power Platform or use of ServiceNow data in reporting and workflow automation.
- Experience applying Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or AI Builder.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dataverse, including schema design, table relationships, security roles, and use as a backend for model-driven Power Apps.
- Possession of relevant Microsoft certifications related to the Power Platform, such as Power Platform App Maker, Power Platform Functional Consultant, or Power Platform Developer Associate.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Previous experience doing front-end development for data intensive applications in the Power Platform.
- Previous experience using user personas, conducting user research, and creating wireframes or prototypes to gather feedback and iterate on interface designs.
- Prior consulting or program support experience with DHS, CISA, or other federal cybersecurity organizations.

Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000
