About the Opportunity:

In the role you will be Identifying and pulling the correct material to cut that is called out. You will be responsible for making sure that you are cutting parts on the Laser to the most current programs and revisions, and that all paperwork is filled out correctly. You will get a First Piece Inspection on all parts that you run, but only after you verify that the parts that you are cutting are conforming to the drawing and that you have measured dimensions that you can check yourself. You may be asked to help put away incoming raw material at times. You will help to load and unload material on the Waterjet, Shear, or another Laser as needed. You will be asked to run 2 Lasers at that same time if you are running a long running job. You will also be trained to run the Shear and will be asked to run that if you are running long-term jobs. As time permits, we will also work to train you on the Waterjet.

Location: Eastford, CT

This is a full-time role 3:30 PM to Midnight Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading material on the machines
  • Ensure that the parts that are coming off the Laser are conforming to the drawing
  • Getting a First Piece Inspection on all parts that are cut in the department
  • Using basic measuring tools to take measurements of the parts
  • Packaging parts that have been cut to go to the various departments within the facility
  • Cut and drill holes per process back-up sheet
  • Perform set-ups per back-up sheets.
  • Inspect work per back-up sheets, using micrometers, height gages and calipers.
  • Identifying and pull correct material
  • Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, material, scrap, time, according to Company policy
  • Assist in equipment maintenance.
  • Call up programs per back-up sheets.
  • Cross Train to run the Waterjet as time permits
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Some Mechanical skills
  • Ability to be on your feet all day
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Self-starter/motivated team player
  • Knowledge of the laser head, power supply, pulse forming network, optical system and the movement system of the laser.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
