Responsibilities

The Wealth Management Liability Consultant serves as a strategic balance sheet and lending consultant supporting the integrated wealth management platform of Nottingham Financial Group, including:

  • Nottingham Investment Services - A team of 30 Financial Consultants (partnered with LPL Financial as Broker Dealer).
  • Nottingham Trust - 20 Trust Officers providing fiduciary and estate planning services.
  • Nottingham Advisors - The Asset Management Group, which manages portfolios for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals and institutional clients.

This highly experienced professional will act as the primary lending strategist and credit advisor across all three business lines, providing customized, client-centric lending and balance sheet solutions that complement the firm's holistic wealth management approach.

The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of private banking, credit structures, and wealth lending products - along with full securities licensing and demonstrated experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary wealth team environment.

Essential Duties:

Lending and Balance Sheet Consultation

  • Serve as the firm's subject matter expert on lending and credit strategy, delivering personalized liability management advice to HNW individuals, business owners, and institutional clients.
  • Design and recommend comprehensive balance sheet solutions integrating both sides of the client's financial statement - assets and liabilities.
  • Advise on and structure lending solutions across a range of products, including:
    • Securities-Based Lending (SBL)
    • Residential and Jumbo Mortgages
    • Specialty Asset Financing
    • Custom Credit Facilities for HNW and

Institutional Clients

Partnership and Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Financial Consultants (LPL-affiliated) to identify and execute credit opportunities that enhance the overall wealth plan and deepen client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Trust Officers to provide liquidity and lending solutions for trust clients and estate planning strategies.
  • Work in tandem with Portfolio Managers and the Asset Management Team to develop liability strategies that align with investment objectives, cash flow needs, and risk tolerance.
  • Serve as an internal resource, trainer, and consultant for credit strategy education across the wealth platform.
  • Liaise with internal banking partners and external credit providers to ensure efficient execution, competitive pricing, and adherence to policy standards.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Participate in joint client meetings alongside Financial Consultants and Relationship Managers to deliver comprehensive balance sheet advice.
  • Proactively identify and originate lending opportunities to support client acquisition and retention.
  • Deliver high-touch, consultative service tailored to HNW and institutional client needs.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and compliance standards across lending and securities activities.

Strategic and Leadership Contributions

  • Support the President & Program Leader in developing firmwide credit strategy and balance sheet management initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at integrating lending capabilities with investment, trust, and advisory functions.
  • Serve as a thought leader on credit market trends, risk management, and interest rate environment impacts.
  • Help shape and refine the firm's advisor training and lending enablement programs

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance,
  • Economics, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Licensing:
    • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) required.
    • NMLS registration preferred (for mortgage-related activities).

Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years in private banking, wealth lending, or credit advisory roles serving high-net-worth and institutional clients.
  • Proven track record developing customized credit solutions and collaborating with financial advisors, trust professionals, and portfolio managers.
  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, collateral structures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex lending concepts clearly to advisors and clients.
  • Familiarity with LPL Financials platform or similar independent broker/dealer environments strongly preferred.
  • High ethical standards, collaborative mindset, and commitment to a fiduciary culture.
