Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years of telemetry nursing experience
  • Peripheral IV insertion skills
  • Central Venous Catheter care & maintenance competency
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and Telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with Tracheostomy and Oxygen Therapy Management
  • This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish Speaking

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current AHA healthcare provider CPR certification
  • Current AHA ACLS certification
  • NIHSS Certificate
