What to Expect
The Program Manager, Service Business Operations, is a hands-on, execution-focused role within the Service Business Operations organization, dedicated to enabling and scaling the operational capabilities of Tesla's Commercial Energy Asset Management team. Reporting to Service Business Operations leadership, this individual partners closely with Asset Management, Commercial Billing, Finance Operations, Legal, Service Operations, and Product/Systems teams to design, implement, and continuously improve the processes that support Asset Managers in effectively managing Tesla's growing portfolio of Commercial PV and Industrial Storage assets. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that requires strong cross-functional influence, process design expertise, and the ability to drive operational excellence without direct reports.

What You'll Do
  • Design, document, and own end-to-end operational processes for the Energy Asset Management team, covering the full project lifecycle - from customer onboarding through contract renewals, amendments, terminations, decommissioning, and billing
  • Identify process gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies across the AM team's existing procedures and develop structured improvements with measurable outcomes
  • Identify roadblocks to contractual cash collections and operationalize improvements to overcome them with cross-functional stakeholders & partners.
  • Maintain and govern the team's process library, ensuring documentation is current, accurate, and actionable
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Asset Management and cross-functional partners including Commercial Billing, Finance Operations (FinOps), Legal, Service Operations, and product/systems teams
  • Coordinate multi-team workstreams for complex, recurring processes such as contract scrubbing, performance guarantee reporting, insurance compliance (COI), settlement payments, and after sales invoicing
  • Lead periodic process audits to ensure procedural compliance and to identify improvement opportunities and drive implementation

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent experience; PMP certification a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, program management, or service operations - ideally within energy, utilities, infrastructure, or a complex B2B services environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing operational processes from the ground up, with the ability to translate ambiguity into structured, scalable workflows
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills; proven ability to drive alignment and accountability across teams without direct authority
  • Familiarity with commercial energy concepts including service agreements, billing structures, performance guarantees, and contract lifecycle management - or the ability to learn quickly in a technical domain
  • Proficiency with project management and documentation tools (Jira, Confluence);
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
