Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist - Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Role Overview The DAM Specialist is responsible for governing, optimizing, and scaling Digital Asset Management capabilities within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This role ensures that AEM DAM functions not only as a content repository but as a platform supporting downstream applications, integrations, and digital experiences. The DAM Specialist partners closely with marketing, creative, product, and engineering teams to align DAM onboarding assessments, metadata, taxonomy, workflows, and governance with business use cases and AEMbased applications. Key Responsibilities DAM Platform & AEM Alignment Own the design and execution of DAM onboarding and readiness assessments for new teams, brands, regions, or applications Ensure DAM structure, metadata, and taxonomy align with apps built on or consuming content from AEM (e.g., portals, partner apps, personalization tools) Act as a subjectmatter expert on AEM Assets capabilities, limitations, and best practices Taxonomy & Metadata Governance Design, maintain, and govern DAM taxonomies, tag namespaces, and controlled vocabularies Align DAM metadata models with downstream consumers such as: Custom AEM apps Websites and microsites PIM, eCommerce, and martech platforms Prevent taxonomy sprawl through governance processes and user enablement Application & Integration Support Partner with application and platform teams to ensure DAM assets are: Structured for API consumption Consistently tagged and discoverable Governed for rights, approvals, and lifecycle Support use cases where DAM assets power: Brand or partner portals Campaign toolkits Sales enablement and distribution apps Workflow & Automation Define and optimize DAM workflows for ingestion, review, approval, publishing, and expiration Ensure assets meet "ready for consumption" criteria before being accessed by AEM sites or downstream applications Leverage AEM automation and Adobe Sensei capabilities where appropriate Enablement & Adoption Educate users on DAM standards, taxonomy usage, and metadata best practices Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to translate DAM needs into actionable requirements Support change management as DAM capabilities expand across applications and teams Asset Intake, Readiness & Governance Spearhead the definition of how assets are onboarded into the DAM, including: Ingestion standards Required metadata and taxonomy Approval and rights management checkpoints Define what constitutes a "DAMready" or "ready for consumption" asset for downstream use across apps, sites, and channels Partner with creative, agency, and content production teams to ensure assets are delivered in a way that supports DAM workflows and reuse Continuously improve asset intake processes to reduce friction, eliminate rework, and ensure quality at scale Required Qualifications 3-7+ years of experience in Digital Asset Management Handson experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM Assets) Strong understanding of: DAM taxonomy and metadata modeling Governance and onboarding processes DAM integrations and downstream consumption Experience supporting DAM as a shared platform across multiple teams or applications Ability to collaborate with both nontechnical stakeholders and engineering teams *Skills* Adobe Experience Manager, Digital Asset Management, Taxonomy, pims *Top Skills Details* Adobe Experience Manager,Digital Asset Management,Taxonomy *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting custom applications built on AEM Familiarity with PIM, CMS, or eCommerce integrations Experience in enterprise or global DAM implementations Understanding of rights management, compliance, and asset lifecycle controls *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
