Job Overview We are seeking an experienced *Lead Fire Alarm Technician* to support the growth of a fire alarm team in the Nashville market. This technician will play a key role in installing, configuring, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems on large commercial projects. The ideal candidate is a handson leader who can guide small teams in the field, work independently, and maintain high standards of quality and professionalism.
This role is wellsuited for someone with a strong experience in commercial fire alarm systems who enjoys leading others and contributing to a growing operation. Key Responsibilities * Install, program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission fire alarm systems * Lead teams of 2-4 technicians onsite and assist with successful project execution * Perform inspections to ensure systems are installed and operating according to code * Troubleshoot system issues and perform basic pointtopoint testing * Communicate clearly with the Project Manager and customers regarding project status, challenges, and timelines * Review contract documents and design drawings prior to installation * Identify installation or system issues and escalate as needed * Complete detailed project documentation and reports * Respond to emergency service calls and participate in rotating oncall schedules as required * Maintain prompt, regular onsite attendance and support varying shift times based on project needs * Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications * *3+ years of handson experience* with structured cabling, conduit installation, fire alarm, or nurse call systems in commercial environments * Proven experience leading small teams (2-4 technicians) * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings * Ability to work independently without direct manager oversight * Experience using hand tools and testing equipment (punch tools, snips, cutters, multimeter) * Ability to lead helpers onsite and manage daytoday tasks efficiently * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal NicetoHave Skills * Experience with access control, CCTV, nurse call, or intercom systems * NICET or other industry certifications * Experience using lifts and working at heights (ladders 8' or taller) Additional Qualifications * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship * Professional demeanor and ability to handle customer interactions effectively * Comfortable reporting to a Project Manager and providing regular updates * Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions Work Environment * Largescale commercial construction projects throughout the greater Nashville area * Work performed in environments such as hospitals, government buildings, office buildings, hotels, and multiuse facilities *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
