Overview

In this role, you will partner with hospitals, health systems, and healthcare leadership teams to assess, design, and improve clinical and operational performance. You will also provide subject matter expertise in healthcare operations, systems, workflows, and process improvements to support quality outcomes, patient experience, efficiency, safety, and financial performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess current-state clinical and operational workflows, systems, staffing models, and processes across hospitals and health systems.
  • Advise healthcare clients on operational improvement strategies that enhance patient care, throughput, efficiency, safety, and financial performance
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement initiatives related to:
    • Patient flow and throughput
    • Care coordination
    • Capacity management
    • Clinical operations
    • Staffing and workforce optimization
    • Departmental workflow redesign
    • Emergency department, inpatient, ambulatory, and perioperative operations
  • Evaluate existing healthcare systems, technologies, and processes and recommend improvements aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with hospital executives, nursing leadership, physicians, department directors, and frontline staff to develop and implement operational solutions
  • Analyze operational and clinical performance metrics, identify trends, and develop recommendations based on data
  • Support the design and implementation of new programs, service lines, clinical spaces, and operational models
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions with multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop operational plans, workflow maps, gap analyses, recommendations, and presentation materials for clients
  • Assist with change management, implementation planning, training, and adoption of new processes
  • Ensure recommendations align with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards
  • Stay current on healthcare industry trends, hospital operations, best practices, and emerging technologies
  • Identify areas of project expansion or additional services and up-sell work
  • Travel requirements are approximately 2-4 nights/week and currently focused on the domestic market
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in clinical or hospital related discipline and 5-7 years of experience in healthcare or consulting role preferred, or a combination of education and experience.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of hospital and health system operations, including clinical and non-clinical departments
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare operations, systems, workflows, and process improvement with knowledge of Visio, SmartSheet or other similar tool
  • Ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification for healthcare and Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC), or within 12 months of hire (paid by company)
  • Strong ability to proactively communicate and present with team members both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and analytical platforms
  • Understands healthcare planning tenets and design elements

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000. The actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and location
