We are looking for a Hardware Safety, Regulatory, and Compliance Project Manager for the Project Amplify team. The multidisciplinary team is made up of Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Designers, Software Engineers, Researchers, Program Managers, Scientists, and Algorithm/Controls Engineers. We are looking for an experienced and collaborative teammate to drive progress towards meeting all safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements. You will work closely with the Research, Reliability, and Engineering Teams. You will coordinate with and drive external test labs and consultants to deliver. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills, a willingness to wear many hats, a positive attitude, and an innovative mindset.

Responsibllities



  • Drive the compliance strategy while ensuring we meet our safety requirements in parallel.
  • Work to ensure devices, batteries, chargers, packaging, and components contained within meet the following, plus any other standards: international safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), environmental (RoHS, REACH), and telecommunication regulations (FCC, CE, IC, etc.) at appropriate times through development and all in time for launch.
  • Work closely with other leads on the project and external partners/laboratories to understand product requirements, features, and related markings or certifications necessary to be compliant.
  • You may develop new tools, methods, and procedures to document status and drive the team towards success. You will interface with multiple teams across the project and company to collaborate on the best approach to testing and verifying designs. You may be asked to brainstorm and assist with quick solutions to unforeseen issues in product or testing.
  • Create and maintain a regulatory and compliance roadmap for Project Amplify (e.g. UN38.3, FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, RF, EMC etc.)
  • Drive internal and external partners to execute against project milestones.
  • Oversee testing and certification process, including, but not limited to, testing at laboratories, reviewing test plans/reports, and obtaining necessary certifications
  • Develop, maintain, and manage documentation about safety, regulatory, and compliance efforts.
  • Work with the team to identify, assess, and mitigate any risks
  • Stay current with ever-changing global regulations (e.g., new environmental, radio, and EMC standards) about launch countries.


Qualifications



  • BS in Engineering or related field -OR- AS plus 2 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Proven experience in consumer electronics product compliance, regulatory affairs, or quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of key hardware regulations (FCC Part 15, CE Marking directives, EMC/LVD, RoHS, REACH, UL/IEC safety standards, etc.)
  • Familiarity and experience using project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems for managing compliance data.
  • Effective communication, people, and collaboration skills
  • History of driving the team to successfully meet project deadlines.
