Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting Actuarial Management

Essential Functions:

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Support and analyze activities related to the Direct Pay, Local Group and National Accounts Market Segments and all lines of business
  • Increase knowledge of actuarial science and insurance theory & practice, progressing to the FSA designation
  • Rate analysis and development
  • Forecast/variance analysis and reporting
  • Claim trend analysis

Required Qualifications:
Related Bachelor's degree required Math/Statistics or related degree
Completion of one or more of the examinations from the Society of Actuaries

Preferred Qualifications:
Background in health field or insurance field

Previous Actuarial experience or internship in an Actuarial area SAS, R and/or SQL experience

Minimum GPA of 3.2

Familiarity with programming languages PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors)

Completion of college-level courses on micro and macroeconomics, introductory corporate finance, and applied statistical methods

General Physical Demands:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annualized Salary Range: $71,200 - $115,700

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $71,200 - $89,000

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
