What this job involves:

As a Facilities Electrician at JLL, you will serve as a hands-on technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across commercial facilities in El Paso, TX. You will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical equipment including HVAC systems, lighting, emergency power systems, and building automation controls. This role combines advanced electrical expertise with a commitment to quality service, directly supporting client satisfaction and operational excellence at our managed properties.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Perform electrical installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs on commercial buildings and building systems including HVAC, lighting, emergency power, transfer switches, UPS, generators, and building automation systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), overload relays, and motors using diagnostic tools including multimeters, clamp meters, and meggers
  • Execute hands-on maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, card access systems, door and gate systems, and various other facility systems
  • Conduct electrical inspections and quality control assessments to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Respond promptly to facility emergencies and service requests to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Assess customer needs, meet quality standards for services, and support positive client relationships in accordance with JLL service principles
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within the commercial building or facilities management industry
  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent state certification
  • Hands-on proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation resistance testers (meggers)
  • Knowledge and experience with CMMS, building management systems (BMS), and Fire Life Safety systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of safe work practices, including energized electrical work, lockout/tagout (LOTO), working at heights, and confined space protocols
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VFD installation, programming, and advanced troubleshooting (fault code diagnosis, DC bus testing, IGBT inspection)
  • Knowledge of emergency power systems including automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, generators, and vertical transportation (elevator) electrical systems
  • Familiarity with laboratory clean room environments and associated electrical requirements
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and electronic card access control systems
  • Customer service experience with ability to assess client needs and maintain high satisfaction levels
  • Knowledge of commercial building mechanical systems, plumbing, and general facility maintenance
  • Experience documenting and reporting technical findings and maintenance recommendations

Location: Onsite - El Paso, TX
Work Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
